COME TAKE MY HAND words and music by Lenny Solomon

The door has been closed,
the words have been spoken,
My heart has been lost to
despair
Words seem so weak, they
don’t soften the moment,
I find myself useless and
bare.
Here now I stand, naked and
tattered
Don’t care what morning will
bring
Alone at the wheel, my ship
has been battered
My eyes cannot focus to see.
I need to rest my body, I need to rest my soul
I need to find a way
through this world
I need to find dry land again, lift my heavy load
Need to have my spirit unfurl
To my amazement, I saw her
vision
As clear as if she were
still here
She scolded my heartache
with this admonition
The living have nothing to
fear
(Think
of the) years we had together, those years we were at sea,
Sailing
on waves of our lives
Finding
out the answers, of what was meant to be
I’ll
see you again when it’s time
She said, come take my hand
and walk through the waters
Then wash away gently your
tears
Travel though time, travel
through distance,
And think of the memories of
years
Come take my hand and walk
through the waters
Then wash away gently your
tears
Travel though time, travel
through distance,
And think of the memories of
years
Come take my hand as we walk
through the waters
And think of the memories of
years
