Come here boy, give
me a listen, ain’t no foolish tale I’m dishin’;
Want to talk with
erudition, about my favorite subject, fishin’;
To cast a line into
the water, puts my life in perfect order;
You know now my true
life mission…(pause)... to go fishin’.
I once had a girl so
pretty, eyes as wide as New York City;
Body full, and oh, so
curvy, made me feel like I was thirty;
Sometimes we would
disagree, about where I was supposed to be;
In the end she set me
free…(pause)… so I went fishin’.
Just slap on some
suntan lotion, and go fishin’ by the ocean;
Then you’ll have a
real good notion, of what I call a true love potion;
Bass or blues depends
what’s bitin’, sure will make your day excitin’;
Cast a lure with
perfect motion…(pause)… feel that emotion.
I
like fishin’ of every kind, nothing like it to ease my mind,
To
tie a hook to a piece of line, makes my inner soul feel fine,
I
don’t care how long I wait, for a fish to nibble, at my bait,
If
by luck, a fish I take, it’s just icing on the cake,
I’ll
take fishin’ every time…(pause)...to ease my mind.
Some folks keep a
coop of pigeons, some folks favor faith, religion;
Some sustain a lofty
vision, set on tracks of old tradition;
I must admit these
leave me cold, in the end when the story’s told;
When it comes to play
or fold…(pause)...I go fishin’.
I
like fishin’ of every kind, nothing like it to ease my mind,
To
tie a hook to a piece of line, makes my inner soul feel fine,
I
don’t care how long I wait, for a fish to nibble, at my bait,
If
by luck, a fish I take, it’s just icing on the cake,
Yes,
I’ll take fishin’ every time…(pause)... to ease my mind.
