THOUGHTS OF YOU            words and music by Lenny Solomon

My eye’s stuck together;

Don’t want to know the time, anyway.

Do I want to get up, no never;

Don’t you tell me there’s a price to pay.

And it’s such a gray day;

Gives me a chill, that runs through my bones.

Don’t want to look in the mirror;

I’d just wonder where my youth has flown.

I see you so clearly,

          I can almost reach out, and touch your face,

          Are you there, not really,

          So I keep these thoughts of you,

          I just keep these thoughts of you.

This road that I’ve traveled;

Sure is bumpy there can be no doubt.

It hasn’t been narrow;

That’s supposed to be, what life is all about.

Met plenty of people;

That I could talk with, just to pass the time.

But you and you only,

Could make my heart stop, flat on a dime.

I see you so clearly

          I can almost reach out, and touch your face,

          Are you there, not really,

          So I keep these thoughts of you,

          I just keep these thoughts of you.

I’ve got to get going;

Soon I’ll pack my things, take to the road.

Another day roaming;

Away from feelings that once overflowed.

High on the hillside;

Sun is sinking for its daily rest.

I’m standing here thinking;

Did I play it smart or just fail the test.

I see you so clearly,

          I can almost reach out, and touch your face,

          Are you there, not really,

          So I keep these thoughts of you,

          I just keep these thoughts of you.
