Grew up in the Smokies,
where if you had some style
You’d creep on through the gullies,
in search of something wild
To catch a fleeting glimpse
of, to track and then to shoot
Some four-legged creature
that was too cute to scoot
Well, back several years
ago, my trigger finger itchin’
I held up my shotgun but my
heart began a’twitchin’
They rushed me to the
hospital, ran tests then I was told
No more eating red meat, too
high in cholesterol
Now
I’m a killer vegan, that’s just what I do
Hunting
round the countryside for my vegan stew
It’s
potato season, on this you can rely
When
one moves I’ll shoot it, right between the eyes
The summer now is over, the days
are getting short
Dark and darker spirits fill
me with these thoughts
Of what I’ll get a bead on, plug
it dead to rights
No bean or green tomato is
safe within my sights
I’m
a killer vegan, that’s just what I do
Hunting
round the countryside for my vegan stew
It’s
potato season, on this you can rely
When
one moves I’ll shoot it, right between the eyes
I just had some carrot juice
and some twelve grain bread
With a tofu burger and now
I’m set for bed
Soon I’ll be a’dreamin’, about
my mountain thrill
Of hunting in the bushes, for
a vegetable to kill
I’m
a killer vegan, that’s just what I do
Hunting
round the countryside for my vegan stew
It’s
potato season, on this you can rely
When
one moves I’ll shoot it, right between the eyes
